Abstract

Purpose: This study investigated the influence of four critical logistics management strategies warehouse management and transportation management on the performance of food and beverage manufacturing firms in Nairobi City County. Firm performance was examined through key indicators: market share, profitability, and quality assurance. Guided by well-established theories including the Resource-Based View and Systems Theory.

Methodology: Primary data was collected using a semi-structured questionnaire administered to a purposively selected sample of 205 respondents. Descriptive and inferential statistical analyses were conducted to establish the relationship between logistics strategies and firm performance.

Findings: The study concludes that warehouse management practices have a positive and significant effect on performance of food and beverage manufacturing firms in Nairobi City County Kenya. Further, the study concludes that transportation management practices have a positive and significant effect on performance of food and beverage manufacturing firms in Nairobi City County Kenya.

Unique Contribution to Theory, Policy and Practice: Based on the findings, the study recommends that the management of food and beverage manufacturing firms in Kenya should adopt route optimization and fleet management technologies that enhance the efficiency of goods transportation.
